A normally active composting environment is already moist, so additional liquid should be considered in relation to the existing microbial-bed condition. Dairy odor behavior varies with moisture, protein, fat, oxygen, temperature, microbial activity and load size. The Lomi and Mill comparison refers to their current published odor-filter architecture and replacement requirements and does not claim a universal laboratory-tested odor-removal percentage advantage.
